2012 will be an exciting year! People from all over the world will descend on London to celebrate the 30th Olympiad and the 14th Paralympics.
The Leprosy Mission is proud to announce, in association with Southwark Cathedral, that they will be holding their own prestigious event. From 23-26 August 2012 the Cathedral will be the magnificent backdrop for a Festival of Flowers with the theme of 'Transformation'.
This architectural gem in the heart of London will draw thousands of people and showcase the work of some of the very best church flower arrangers in the country.
World-renowned designer Mig Kimpton as the creative director and under his guidance wethere will be four key themes:
- transformation through the good news of Jesus Christ
- transformation through the work of The Leprosy Mission
- transformation through sport (particularly for people with disabilities)
- transformation in the community
Visitors will have the opportunity to join some of the designers for mini demonstrations each day. Delicious lunches available in the licensed Cathedral Refectory, plus an exhibition by Vicky Mappin, The Society of Botanical Artists.
